Tinder Tales: A Not-So-Valentine's Show

Royal Cinema (Toronto) & Corona Theatre (Montreal)

À propos du projet

Started in Tinder Tales is a comedic storytelling platform for Canadian performers (comedians, storytellers, television hosts) to share their real, ridiculous, and hilarious, dating stories live on stage. Tinder Tales strives to serve as an entertaining reminder that we are not alone in the dating struggle and sometimes, we just have to laugh about it!

In February 2020 our goal is to bring Tinder Tales' annual "A Not-So-Valentine's Show" to The Royal Theatre in Toronto and Corona Theatre in Montreal. Donations will secure your tickets to either show location and guarantee booking the venues. Tickets sold will go towards supporting Canadian artist talent and the Canadian Association of Stand-up Comedians.

A quoi va servir le financement ?

Funds will cover the cost of booking both venues: The Royal Cinema in Toronto (for 2 showtimes) and Corona Theatre in Montreal.

Net revenue from ticket sales (beyond your donations) will go towards paying Canadian performers what they deserve and withh go into future show production and marketing.

$25 Gets you a GA ticket to your choice of show (Toronto or Montreal)

$50 Gets 2 GA tickets to your choice of show (Toronto or Montreal)

Show details to be announced when goal is met.

À propos du porteur de projet

The Creator

Adelade LaFontaine is a 30 something year old entrepeneur with a love for creating memorable experiences. Adelade has a degree in Business Communications and a post-graduate certificate in Event Management. She has worked as an event coordinator at multiple venues and is a former wedding planner.

When the now infamous dating app, Tinder, was born, Adelade quickly became intrigued. Many nights were spent with friends sharing personal dating stories, strange pickup lines, and even exchanging phones to show some of the absurd dating bios people were posting. Inspired by Toronto's vibrant storytelling scene, Adelade decided to start her own creative side project - a storytelling event based on the crazy dating stories that come from dating app encounters. To her surprise, the first event on a Monday night in November of 2014 hit capacity, and so, Tinder Tales was born.

Tinder Tales began as a storytelling show and has slowly moved more and more towards comedy. Adelade continues to navigate through this primarily male dominated industry as an independant lady producer and works to create an inclusive space and platform for comics, storytellers and audience members.

When she's not managing all of the moving parts of the Tinder Tales she is probably hanging out with her lovable boxer-bulldog, Bobby or her partner who, ironically enough, she met on Tinder (see it's not all bad!). To unwind she can be found attending a yoga or workout class in Montreal where she currently resides, or drinking wine and YouTubing 90's music videos.
